The NST ASTAR Scrabble Challenge International (ACSI) was held at Auditorium Complex Perdanasiswa, University Malaya. It was a two days team event organized by the Academic and Intellectual Committee of the First Residental College, UM on 29th and 30th January 2009.

ASCI Participants22 teams of two players aged between 16 and 24 years, took part in this International Tournament, playing 7 rounds of Scrabble. Ramaraj took part with his friend Khoo Beng Way, calling themself 'Team Transition".

Team Transition ended up third, winning a prize money of RM 1,500, trophy and certificates. The competition was won by the Thai pair of Chaiwat and Thacha of Team Unknown, followed by another Malaysian pair Martin Teo and Leroy Ong of Team CrackJaw.

Rama’s result of six wins out of seven matches was even with the top two Thai players and Singaporean Toh Wei Bin.
