2008 SJC Girls' Futsal One Day Tournament_ 03.08.08

The One Day Tournament on 3rd August 2008, marked the closing of our 2008 SJC Girls' Futsal League. The final Round 6 games were played followed by the Mum's and Dad's Futsal games. The closing ceremony of the tournament included the prize giving ceremony, lucky draws and High Tea party.

Our Guest for the closing ceremony was YB Hannah Yeoh, ADUN for Subang Jaya.

In the Majors Division, even though the Champions and the Runners-up were decided last week as Amber and Emerald respectively, it was a very competitive and rough game between them. Instead of letting the players enjoy their last game of the season, they were under pressure to win at all cost, which affected some of the players' performance. The second game between Turquiose and Citrine was a closely contested friendly game which ended in a scoreless draw. Turquoise players were happy to earn their first point. The results of the games did not change the positions of the team. Congratulations to the Champions Amber, Runners Up Emerald followed by Citrine and Turquiose.

In the Seniors Division, Champions Jade won Sapphire by three goals by nil. Opal managed to beat Garnet narrowly by one goal to end up as Runners Up followed by Sapphire and Garnet.

The Premier game between Champions Diamond and Ruby was very exciting. Ruby needed a draw to secure Runners Up position and they did it with a three all draw. In the second match, Topaz beat Amethyst by two goals to nil to achieve third position in the table followed by Amethyst.

There were four teams each competing in the Mums and Dads futsal. It was a feisty battle between the Mums and the Pinky Mums emerged Champions. The Dads game was also closely contested and was won by Team 1.

The prize giving ceremony started with a speech from YB Hannah Yeoh. Each player was given a trophy with her name and team name . The Champions and the Runners Up winners for each divisions were also awarded with medals.

Certificates were awarded to referees, coaches, team managers and volunteers. YB Hannah Yeoh was presented with a token of appreciation for her support by Dr. Amin, Chairman of SJCSC.

The lucky draws comprising of prizes ranging from hampers to Uno cards were great fun. Farouk, our SJCSC Coordinator, gave away the prizes.

There was also a surprise cake cutting ceremony for birthday girl Vyshnavi who turned nine on that day. The day ended with a High Tea treat comprising of "Roti Jala", curry chicken, chicken nuggets, sausages and curry-puffs.
